What Makes a Good Shetland Mom

Betsy is the first Shetland sheep I bought "back in the days."
She is 9 years old now. She has an attitude. She stomps her foot at me when I do not do things her way and is very demanding about her grain and her personal pasture time on the other side of the fence....you know the side that is always greener.
Betsy is above all, a wonderful mom to all of her lambs.

When its raining outside and there is no sun shining she finds the warmth of a heat lamp to cuddle with her lamb.

She is a very attentive listener to everything her son has to tell her.

And she always protects her lambs by making sure she gives them the best advice  and being right by their side:)

So sweet, both the lamb and the mothering. Love those wee little spots on her son.
