Greenhouse Dreams & Blue Merle Girls

Seriously, how long has this winter been dragging on?  I think its like been 8 months already......
And these past two weeks it has been either Lake Effect Snow or clipper snows here in Northeast Ohio.  Last Friday the Lake Effect Snow was so bad I had to call in sick to school because I was afraid to drive to work......well actually, I couldn't believe that the "special school district" I work for didn't cancel school like all the other 100 plus flippin schools in the area did so I excerised my common sense and said "I am sick of this s*#t" and called off. Surprisingly, my students used common sense too as only 20 of 110 went to school that day.....I was so proud of them;)
What last Friday did confirm was that I. AM. DONE. WITH. WINTER!

I want to play in the new greenhouse!! I didn't spend $*@#* (can't say how much because my Dad might be reading and I always lie about how much money I spend on things cuz it kinda freaks him out) on the greenhouse to look at it in the snow.......I am dreaming about playing in the dirt and growing lots of new seeds this year.

This is one of the books I purchased for "winter" reading.  Great book with LOTS of good ideas and great pictures too!  The seed catalogs have been popping up in the mailbox.....such a good gift to get on a snowy winter day!

This weekend I moved the alpacas from the stall in the big barn to their temporary housing up by the greenhouse.  I am putting in a new pasture/fencing area but need to playing the ground game and I need to move 2 of the lean-to's.......I had them built on skids so they can be moved around if necessay.  The alpacas have been quite content in their new temporary living quarters.  Its been an interesting experience getting to know and understand them though I don't think they have been overly thrilled with getting to know me!

So, Dixie and Meesha have become like best sisters and are constantly running and playing outside in the snow.  It has been wonderful to see how Dixie accepted Meesha and I think she is truly happy to have a buddy to play with as the beagles are becoming old farts!

Yep, my blue merle girls are pretty special and for some insane reason, they love this snow!!!!!

Awwwww, love seeing pix of Ms. Dixie. Hopefully she and her bud will be as close as Promise and Ivy are. Haven't worked since Wed. last week :) One plus of working at a greenhouse, to cold I don't have to go in!

My ElPaso female Cardi also loves the snow. Go figure. She goes out and lays in it. I wonder if it is because she is a fluff. Maybe her fur keeps her warm enough. Two of mine just run and play in the snow. The third one gets cold feet real quick.

I couldn't believe Cleveland had school Friday. Everyone else was off. It took me 45 minutes to get to work from where I live by the zoo to Independence....a normally 15 minute drive. But Cleveland never called off, I feel like, when I was in school.

Awww!! So sweet. I need a playmate for Barbie so badly. I know I'm so ready for spring! What are some of the new veggies/herbs you're planning to grow? Love your greenhouse!

My hubby and I shoveled snow three different times yesterday. We would get the driveway clear, thinking the snow was over and then the flakes would arrive again with gusto. So tired of winter, but glad for the moisture.

I love the joy that surrounds Dixie and Meesha in the snow. Toby seems to like it as well.

Now I have to look up that book. I was going to place an order anyway so this one may be added. Thanks for adding to my addiction! :O)

Susan,
Dixie is my girl and she being a great big sis to Meesha! The two of them run around like crazy dogs!

Sharrie,
Dixie is a tad fluffy too and she loves that snow! I think Meesha is going to be a dieheart snow lover too!

Angie,
Shhhh....don't tell the secret of that "district" I work for;) you know the common sense of some Clevelanders is just not there....LOL

Stephen,
My greenhouse is my latest pride and joy! I definitely want to dabble with more heirlooms but I am such a picky eater so I tend to be a picky planter!

Barb,
Its a great book! You will definitley like it! Winter is just stressing me out!

I know that "winter will never end" feeling, although this year I have escaped all of that - for the time being. I, too, love to get dirt under my fingernails. I pour over the seed catalogs and try to figure out what flowers and veges I want. The greenhouse looks dreamy! I love watching your dogs play in the snow. Isn't it funny how they enjoy that?

My German shepherds love the snow, too. When we get it. The kids love to throw them snowballs to see if they can catch them before they break apart into the snow. I watch from the window. Inside. By the woodstove ;) Stevie@ruffledfeathersandspilledmilk.com
