A Good Read

I have a variety of "issues" as a single woman. Perhaps I should call them "weaknesses". Maybe they are addictions. But regardless, I have a lot of them.........books and magazines I mean. I refuse to ever show you a picture of my bookcases or back bedroom as it may alarm you to the state of my "organizational" abilities.
So, what is the point of this blog? Okay, I was searching among my book shelf tonight for a particular book when I stumbled upon a book my mom bought me for Xmas, which I shelved & forgot about (sorry Mom, don't take offense, you know I get side-tracked a lot) but I decided to crack the book open tonight. It was published in 2005 so its not a newer book and maybe some of you have read it. Anyways I thought I would share it with you, particularly for the sheep people out there.

"A witty philosophical murder mystery with a charming twist: the crack detectives are sheep determined to discover who killed their beloved shepherd."

Some of the characters:

Heather: a lively young sheep, doesn't think before she speaks

Cloud: the wooliest sheep in the flock

Rameses: a young ram whose horns are still rather short

The Winter Lamb: a difficult lamb; a troublemaker

Fosco: correctly thinks himself clever

I was originally looking for some romance book I bought, probably 2 years ago, on some woman who falls in love with a vampire (the girls at school are in love with the whole "Twilight" thing & we were having a lunch discussion on it today so of course I remembered this book now:)

BUT since I can't seem to find that book this book sounds like a good read.......gonna have to watch my own sheep though so they don't get any crazy ideas:)

I loved "Three Bags Full". I was totally engrossed by the story to the point I stayed up too late reading it. I really say my sheep in the personalities of the characters. Surprising ending as well. highly recommended !(especially for primitive sheep breed folks!)

Wow, my magazine and book addiction sounds like yours! I love the old houses with nice library's. "Three Bags Full" is already on my Amazon Wish List. It sounds really good. There's also a cute one I'm reading now called "Case of the Ill-Gotten Goat" which is about a vet and his farm detective agency.

I love your blog!

Kristi,
I read this book a year or so ago and enjoyed it very much. It was quite entertaining regarding the sheep personalities, and why the sheep did the things they did. Hope you enjoy it! I've been threatened with intervention on my 'book addiction', but I'm sure I could quit anytime I want...as long as that anytime is not in this world! ;-)

I've added this to my "must read list". I'll have to look for both magazines when I get to the bookstore.

I'm reading the same book now! It's creating some stiff competition with my knitting....

Donna,
Thank you for stopping by!! Its always so neat to hear from someone:) I took a quick peek at your blog and see you have Nigerians also!! I am so anxious to see Nigerian kids this year as I hated so long to get my Nigerian dwarf buck. The book is very good, though, I do have to cut myself off because I need serious sleep!!

Rayna,
Of course, you need to make sure you have spare time to read it when you get it:)

Crazy Chicken Lady,
Thanks for reading my blog! I am glad you like my "little" life on the farm! I noticed you have Blue Wyandotts on your wish list....I wanted those too last year but they were not available when I placed my order. Maybe next time. I will have to check out the book you are reading and old houses with libraries are very neat...I actually wanted to do archival work before I went into teaching but thats another blog entry....:)

Tammy,
you know, I don't drink, I don't smoke so what is the problem with a few books and magazines? See, that's the joy of being single!!!

Deb,
the magazines are a great read! Nature's Garden I got at Walmart, and Mother Earth at TSC. I gotta plan now because I know there is so much to do!!!

Melanie,
As always, great minds think alike!!
