Harvest Thyme Homestead has grown out of a love for the simplier times of life. Its roots begin in a belief in one's self and that in time, the harvest of one's hard work will create a place called home.....with a few sheep, goats, chickens, cats, dogs, and 3 horses added in for good company.

I think I post so many pictures of fall as I want to savory every last moment of my favorite season. This week this beautiful mum bloomed. I bought it a couple of years ago & each year I split it and replant it throughout the yard. I have never found another mum in this stunning shade of pink! One of those little statues that I love to add to garden! It puts a smile on my face regardless of the season:)
This is probably my most favorite tree in the yard.....its a river birch I bought a few years ago. I paid $70 for the tree & after the first year the main trunk died. Needless to say, I was annoyed and I cut the tree way back. Today, its a perfect tree right in front of my house. I have it decorated with orange lights that look so festive at night esp. when the big harvest moon is out!
And did you really think I could do a post without a Halloween pic?
I can't say as I blame you for enjoying this time of year ... we are having some beautiful fall weather here too with cool mornings and nice warm, sunny days, and I just can't seem to get enough. The colors are coming out too and each day I can see changes on the mountains that surround me.
We have 3 River Birches in our yard (2 out front, together, and 1 out back) and I think they are my favorite trees too. Ours have grown like mad and I'm really pleased with them.
I have a river birch too! I got it 'free' from arbor day when I joined one time. It is huge now, as that was about 18 years or so ago. I love it--amazingly,even with it's several trunks/limbs it survived the ice storm with minimal damage, when other, more hearty looking trees went down. Tammy (lovely pix as usual)
Dixie is soooo cute! I love all your decorations and the autumn season. The wind has blown most of the leaves off our trees and today it rains. I really dislike the dreary look of things between now and snow.
I'm finally getting into the "fall mood." Have never had this problem before as fall is usually my favorite season. It's just that this summer was so absolutely, gloriously, deliciously wonderful. Sort of like I've been in mourning for it's passing.
Think I'm getting into the swing now. (If the leaves would just cooperate by turning before they fall off. Darn dought!)
When you mentioned Prince and purple Rain, I had to come over and tell you...right after that came out I was dating a guy who had the soundtrack casette tape STUCK in the casette player in his truck so that's all anyone could listen to....LOL!!!

I don't have luck with mums here, I'm envious!

Oops!! Didn't mean to comment twice :)
Fall is my absolute favorite season too. I plan to post some more foliage pictures later today as a matter of fact.

Fall is my favorite season too. Which is strange since I hate winter. Nice pictures.
