Please Cast Your Vote!!!!

I have added the Live Feed Feature to my blog for the following reasons:

  1. My 8th grade students are adding this feature to their "My Space"or blogs, over 85% of all my students have one so why not have them do something they like in class? Its geography on their level & they won't even know it!
  2. The students have one week to keep track of how many people visit their site & from where. They will then have to take their data & label a map, do percentages, & create graphes based on their findings. They will then have to report out to the class.
  3. I will also be doing this. I am not sure if I like this feature on my blog as I am not sure if it will discourage people from coming back, like perhaps they think its a breech of privacy, me being nosy, or whatever.....not that I am putting myself out in the world by blogging:)
  4. I have posted a survey on the Live Feed Feature. PLEASE CAST YOUR VOTE. I want to use this poll to discuss with students the issue of privacy & the internet.
  5. And if you have any suggestions, please feel free to leave a comment...I do read them:)

Please don't be chicken, cast your vote!!

I'm not even sure what a live feed is, so how can I vote on it?

What kind of chicken is that lovely? (Back to the important things. :-)

The Live Feed is from FeedJIT..scroll down on my blog to see it. Shows where everyone who views the blog is coming from. That is one of those Araucanas...suppose to lay colored eggs in shades of blue & green....wouldn't know cuz I have not seen an egg yet:)

But she doesn't have poofy cheeks OR grey/green legs! Are you SURE?

See, thats kinda what I thought. Because the other Araucanas that I have are what you are describing but I have 2 that look like the one in the picture. I ordered them from Murray McMurray. Perhaps their is a variety among the Araucanas? I have no clue. I guess I could send them a pic. & ask them? This is my first year with chickens so I am open for suggestions & insight:)

She has the same color/markings as a golden laced Wyandott I once had but the head looks different...

I've seen the live feed on someone else's blog. 'Doesn't bother me. I think it's kind of cool when I see other people came from MY blog to the one with the live feed...

Okay, I am an idiot....when I just looked at Nancy's comment I relooked at the pic and yep she is the golden lace Wyandott. In my pictures I have those 2 chicken pics next to each other & I clicked on that one instead of the one I originally intended to....gosh its so good to have blogger friends to watch over me:)

Of course, it is still young, but that looks like a Golden Laced Wyandotte. I would know for sure if I could see the comb. I do know Michelle is right...it is NOT an Ameracauna. I don't know if that is good or bad news...

And, like Michelle, I didn't know about "Live feed" so it was impossible for me to vote...If all it does is track the origins of blog visitors, I guess it is OK.

What do your students think about the feature of some lists, e-mails, etc. that show when a person is on-line or not...that might be closer to invasion of privacy issues...

Kristi,
Thank you SO MUCH for the kind words and hug on my post today. They mean so much to me...I feel better already :)
I am gonna hold you to the offer of you and the little lamb being the first visitors to my little farm someday. I need to be more proactive about making my dream come true. One of the unexpected and wonderful things I have gained from starting a blog is meeting friends like you that are living my dream. I feel like it has brought me one step closer to doing it myself.....thanks to you all.
That is so cool that you took a class from the sweetgrass basket ladies. I know of Hymans Seafood, but I have not eaten there yet, I will have to check it out next time. Seafood is among my favorites. I just absolutely LOVE Charleston...I never tire of visiting there.
Take care,
Tracey
